"Hakuna matata", el "Carpe diem" de África

 

"Hakuna matata".

Sí, en efecto. Todos habéis pensado enseguida en El Rey León. Gracias a esta película Disney, la expresión se ha popularizado: "Hakuna matata. Sonríe y sé feliz. Ningún problema...". Una pegadiza canción de Elton John. Pero la expresión había aparecido antes en otras canciones, como "Jambo - Hakuna matata", del grupo alemán Boney M.

Pero... ¿qué significa realmente la expresión? Recurramos a la Wikipedia:

«Hakuna Matata» es una expresión del idioma suajili que se traduce como «No te angusties» (su traducción literal correspondería a «No hay problema», también referido a «no te preocupes, sé feliz»). La frase (...) se oye a menudo en resorts, hoteles y otros lugares atractivos para el turismo. Además, la frase es de uso más común en Zanzíbar, Tanzania y Kenia. Se le puede relacionar con otras frases como "Carpe Diem".

En definitiva, eso es "Hakuna matata": un "Carpe diem" africano, un canto a la vida, al optimismo. Así que, ya sabéis, "Cortad las rosas del huerto de Ronsard..." Y si queréis usar palabras africanas, aquí tenéis: Hakuna matata, Ubuntu... Ya no hace falta recurrir a aquello de los chistes:
